Student Assistance Program & Safe2Say
What is the CRHS Student Assistance Program (SAP)?
Sometimes students have concerns that affect their work in school. Physical, emotional, drug or alcohol problems can keep a student from achieving success in class and enjoying their high school years in general. The SAP team accepts referrals regarding students experiencing difficulties from students, parents, teachers, school staff, or any concerned parent. Our team of caring school personnel will gather information from teachers and family members and determine if additional support could benefit the student. Further support may be academic. Or our team can help put a student and family in touch with other resources within the high school or in the community as needed. The high school currently provides school-based weekly therapy for students in need through Nulton Diagnostics in Bedford and Switch Mental Health Counseling in Johnstown.
ALL REFERRALS ARE COMPLETELY CONFIDENTIAL. Anyone who has a concern may contact the HS guidance office at (814) 839-4195 ext. 3336 or email Julia Evans, School Counselor, at [email protected]
Another way that students and our community can make referrals regarding concerns about a potential threat of violence or a student possibly being a danger to themselves is through the
Safe2Say program. Referrals made to Safe2Say are anonymous.
Here’s how it works:
- Submit an anonymous tip report through the Safe2SaySomething system
- Crisis center reviews, assesses and processes all submissions
- Crisis center sends all submissions to school administration and/or law enforcement for intervention
- If needed, crisis center may contact tipster anonymously through the app
