Chestnut Ridge School District is excited to announce the unveiling of a student-created mural at the South Midway Turnpike Service Plaza. The glazed ceramic mosaic depicts local landmarks and places of interest in the county, and was a collaborative effort between around 70 students and artist Robert Zabrowsky. This project is part of the Art Sparks program, which pairs students with teaching artists to create works of art in each plaza across the turnpike. The district is proud to showcase its students' artistic talents and promote community art.

On the left side of the photo, Keith Ziegler of Ziegler Chevrolet in Claysburg presents Mark Clevenger the Athletic Director of Chestnut Ridge High School with a check in the amount of $1,000.00. The Chevy Youth Sports Program is a way for Ziegler Chevrolet to support the development of youth sports in the area and to give back to the community. The money was used to purchase equipment for the benefit of the Chestnut Ridge Jr. High girls volleyball team.
