Bio:
  • Graduated from Chestnut Ridge in 1989
  • Earned a BS in Mathematics from Frostburg State University in 2004 with a minor in education
  • MS in Instructional Systems Technologies from Duquesne University in 2012
  • Prior to coming to CRHS I taught for the previous 13 years for The Grier School, prior to that I taught for 15 years at Altoona Career and Technology Center, Williamsburg Community School district, and Allegany College of Maryland.  I have taught a wide range of subjects throughout the years, everything from basic computation to statistics and calculus
  • Hold my Level II teaching certifications in mathematics, drivers’ education and as an instructional technologies specialist
  • Married to my wife Dr. Candace Claar she works at Penn State University as an assistant teaching professor in the College of Education. We have two kids of the four legged variety, an extremely mixed dog that we rescued, his name is Fergus and another of the four legged variety in the form of our adopted cat named Bo.
  • When not teaching I enjoy playing golf, researching golf, dreaming of playing golf, planning to play golf…..you get the idea…..
