About CRHS

Chestnut Ridge High School is a community where tradition, opportunity, and high expectations come together to prepare students for success in school and beyond. Serving approximately 530 students in grades 8–12, CRHS is committed to providing each student with a challenging, supportive, and well-rounded educational experience.

At Chestnut Ridge, we recognize that success after high school looks different for every student. Our academic program provides multiple pathways designed to prepare students for college, technical education, the workforce, military service, and other opportunities beyond graduation. Students can challenge themselves through a wide range of academic and honors courses, dual-enrollment opportunities, career and technical education, and electives that allow them to explore their interests and develop practical skills.

Learning at CRHS extends well beyond the traditional classroom. Students have opportunities to explore agriculture, technology, engineering and design, the arts, business, music, skilled trades, and other areas while developing the communication, collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving skills that will serve them throughout their lives. Students interested in career and technical education may also pursue specialized programs through the Bedford County Technical Center.

Just as important as what we teach is the environment in which our students learn. Our faculty and staff take pride in knowing our students, building meaningful relationships, and creating a school where students are supported while being challenged to reach their potential. We believe high expectations and genuine care go hand in hand.

Athletics, clubs, music, student organizations, and extracurricular activities are also an important part of the Chestnut Ridge experience. These opportunities allow students to discover new interests, develop leadership skills, build lasting relationships, represent their school and community, and experience what it means to be part of something larger than themselves.
